The July Ask Me is a little bit silly and random. It’s partially a tag post from Mariannelle, with the submitted Ask Me questions replacing the ones I didn’t like.
1. Full name
Bianca Jessica Smith
2. Zodiac sign
*quickly Googles* Sagittarius.
3. 3 fears
Spiders with black, hairy legs, over-sized things , and having to create a third fear.
4. 3 things I love
Winter, oh this is meant to be three. Winter and more winter.
5. Do you have any big trips on the horizon?
Define big? For some, Seattle is a big trip and I’m on Tuesday doing my second trip there in a week.
6. Last song I listened to
Does a podcast theme music count? I’ve been binging Potterless.
7. What’s your favourite way to relax after a stressful day / week?
I may not have enough submitted questions to remove the not as fun ones.
A week ago was a bleurgh week, so I left work on the Friday and sat in Starbucks with a sweet vanilla cold brew (coffee not beer, alcohol isn’t sold in Starbucks this far north), and I finished reading The House of One Thousand Eyes.
8. I haven’t read a book all year, but I read your blog. How does it feel knowing you’re currently my one source of literary sustenance?
I can’t criticize, I have the Blinkist app for non-fiction reading. It summarizes books to 15 minutes of the essentials.
9. What color underwear I’m wearing right now
Who says I’m wearing any? *checks* Black
10. How many tattoos/piercings do I have
With jewelry in them? Two, one in each ear. There are three others though.
11. The reason I started blogging
With Tap Dancing Spiders? Purely for fun and it was 2008. This site was started because TDS turned into business and I wanted to write other things too.
12. How I feel right now
Hot, sleepy, annoyed. Definitely a cold shower before bed tonight. Bleurgh, summer.
13. Something I really really want
Winter
14. My current relationship status
Is not linked to my identity so not relevant for here.
15. Meaning behind my URL
Mass consternation also means absolute bewilderment or confusion. It sums up life rather well. I wanted a snippet from a book, and this was from the last business book I had read. I don’t even recall the title.
16. My favourite movie
I’m not sure I have an all-time go-to favorite. Shooting Fish is a geeky romance that I adored. I rewatched it recently, and it’s still gorgeous. Moana is a favorite too.
17. My favourite song
I don’t care that much for music to have a favorite. Warrior Face from the Moana soundtrack (extended, it was dropped from the movie) has brilliant, empowering lyrics.
18. My favourite band
Same as above. Kind of.
19. 3 Things that upset me
People being nasty to other people just to boost their ego or to keep their status quo. Your normal is rarely someone else’s. It’s not bad, just different. Try it.
20. 3 Things that make me happy
Great coffee, people doing amazing things, adventuring.
21. What I find attractive in other people
Curiosity.
22. Someone I miss
I’ve moved too often and met too many people, and I’m bound to miss someone, so I refuse to answer.
23. Someone I love
I love my favorite people.
24. My relationship with my parents
Is not a discussion for public consumption.
25. My favourite holiday
I’m internally leaving the Australian/UK spelling in the questions.
Thanksgiving is my favorite. It’s gorgeous with community and togetherness, without the commercialization or religion.
26. My closest blogging friend
I have close friends who blog, but none who would call themselves a blogger.
27. Someone famous I’d date
I tried outsourcing this to the baristas in the cafe where I’m writing this. None of us can think of any.
28. A confession
I don’t like superhero movies. Yeah, I had to “come out” with this. My nerd friends are very accepting of me, even if they don’t understand.
29. 3 Things that annoy me easily
Cupboard doors being left open.
30. My favourite animal
Polar bears. I want a pet one.
31. My pets
I’ve never found a pet that’s totally self-sufficient.
32. One thing I’ve lied about
That everything’s OK. Fake it ’til you make it, right?
33. Something that’s currently worrying me
That’s boring.
34. An embarrassing moment
Must I answer this?
35. Where I work
I work everywhere. It’s the fun of doing digital marketing. All I need is a computer and an internet connection.
36. Something that’s constantly on my mind
I’m not sure there’s one thing.
37. 3 Habits I have
I’m blanking on this. Tracking everything on ToDoist is a habit and a good one at that. To plan the day in my BestSelf journal, and a third would be to not follow through with the plan written in the BestSelf journal. I’m definitely more organized in the morning.
38. My future goals
To cut the number of questions down from 50.
39. Something I fantasise about
If I skipped a few questions but changed the numbers would anyone notice there are fewer than 50?
40. My favourite store
Etsy counts, right?
41. My favourite food
Spaghetti bolognese. It’s probably the only favorite on this page that I can count as all-time.
42. What I did yesterday
Sorted more Lego. I’m liquidating my collection, but when I moved last, all the Lego got thrown together in one box. That makes it sound like someone else did it. No, I was lazy and threw it all in one box. I regret it now.
43. Something I’m talented at
Being a perfectionist who isn’t perfect. My standards are high, and I rarely meet my own standards. It’s more modesty than beating myself up.
44. My idea of the perfect date
Dinner and a good book. Oh, you mean with another person? #ProudIntrovert
45. My celebrity crush
I don’t currently have one. Maybe I need one.
46. My favourite blog
Again, no all-time. I follow many blogs. The Pewter Wolf was the first book blog I followed.
47. Number of kids I want
I can’t give a socially acceptable answer to this and still be honest.
48. Do I smoke/drink
Drinking: a little. Smoking: ewww, yuck.
49. One word that describes me
Introvert
50. My favourite quote
This is more a current favorite quote: “Differences of habit and language are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts are open.” Thank you, Dumbledore.
