Photography challenge: colour

A pale yellow flower on a dreary coloured background

This week’s photography challenge gave me three options, all about using colour creatively. I could:

  • shoot a subject that contrasts with the background
  • shoot a photo with only 1-2 colors in it
  • shoot in black and white

As you can see, I chose the photos with 1-2 colours. Or it’s kind of one colour in each with shadows and definition creating a second. Either way, I’m thankful for the local grocery store for having such vibrant mandarins and the random neighbour with pretty succulents in their yard.

One thing that’s been hard with these challenges (apart from it being winter so I’m working during the best light) is that I decided I had to submit new photos. I could find more than suitable photos in my collection, but that would diminish the lessons in the course. So the collections will keep coming, and being added to.
