The Grinch who stole Seattle’s Gingerbread Village

I have a confession to make: I have never read How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I know the gist of the story from references. I’ve just never had the opportunity or desire to read it.

I’m typing this on my phone in line for Seattle’s annual gingerbread village celebration. It’s a bucket list item and not one I was particularly excited about. But I’m downtown with my camera and have time to spare. Plus, the line is short compared to an average two-hour weekend wait. And this year’s theme is the Grinch.

After the Gingerbread Village

Yeah, so this is checked off the bucket list. I’m glad we gave up seeing this a few weeks ago. Today was nearly an hourlong wait for six human-sized piles of sugar. Just a tad anti-climactic. I was expecting more from the gingerbread village’s reputation.

Here are my photos from the village. None really worked for the header photo, so that’s thanks to Unsplash.
